QUIZ: Top 5 Obscure Quotes from Popular Christmas Movies

On this first Monday in December, I thought it’d be fun to have a little quiz.  Below are five obscure, but great, quotes from Christmas movies.  You've heard of the Christmas movies.  The quotes may have slipped past you, but we'll see.  Put your answers/guesses in the comments section.  I’ll add the answers in the comments after people get a chance to weigh-in.

5: "What boat took them all to Gilligan's lsland?"
"Er, Mako?  Mackerel?"

4: "Watch out, the yellow ones don't stop!"

3: "It's Junction 13 that's just murder, isn't it? Total gridlock this morning."
(This one is hilarious because of the unusual context—let’s see if you ever caught the words.  This is a clue too, so this may help you figure it out.)

2: “Well, it’s a blue ball.”

1: "Boys and girls and music. Why do they need gin?"
...and from the same movie, but a different character and scene...
"I feel like a bootlegger's wife!"

See how many you can figure out.  Add your guesses below, and if you have a good obscure quote from a holiday movie, try to stump us by posting it below.  Oh yeah, share this with your friends on Facebook too!

  1. I can only get 4 and 5 and I don't want to give them away so early in the day.

    I'll add:
"it's a one year membership in the jelly of the month club."

  2. #3 is one of my top ten desert island movies.  Maybe top 5.

  3. So it seems like we have 3, 4, and 5, and someone on Facebook said she knows 2.  Nobody knows 1?  It's been a day--feel free to post the actual answers if you know them...

  4. 4. elf, 2. a christmas story!

  5. Correct so far: 2 - A Christmas Story, 4 - Elf, and 5 - Scrooged.  Can anyone get 1 and 3?

  6. Alex_DiMaio and Sooz are the big winners with two correct answers.  Here are the two that stumped everybody:

    3. is from Love Actually.  It's the guy who is doing "blocking" for the porno.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, just see the movie--it's a really funny scene.
    1. is from It's a Wonderful Life.  Who knew that movie was so focused on booze!
