Top 5 Troy McClure T.V. Specials

Simpsons fans will immediately recognize the name of the character Phil Hartman made famous, but you may remember aging B-movie actor McClure from such films as David versus Super Goliath and The Revenge of Abe Lincoln.  What you may not remember is that in addition to films and cartoons like Christmas Ape and Christmas Ape Goes To Summer Camp, McClure starred in several educational, self-help, and other specials.  Here are the best of those:

5: The Half-Assed Approach to Foundation Repair

4: Whoa!  Don't Touch Me There!

3: Lead Paint: Delicious But Deadly

2: Smoke Yourself Thin

1: Get Confident, Stupid!

Sadly, Phil Hartman was killed May 28, 1998 and Troy McClure died with him.  It's hard to believe that was 14 years ago, and The Simpsons is still going strong!  Give a shout out to your favorite fake Troy McClure movie or t.v. special below, and don't forget to like us here.

  1. you used the picture from "Meat and You" that should be on your list.
Couple other great ones (I had to look up the official names) - "Fuzzy Bunny's Guide to You know what", and "Designated Drivers...the lifesaving nerds"

  4. Troy McClure, like Phil Hartman was one-of-a-kind.  I still remember the day he was killed like it was yesterday.  I was an enormous fan of his.  I still watch News Radio on Crackle all the time. :)
His Troy McClure, fish-fetish and all, was one of the best characters that will thankfully live on and on.  We quote him almost daily in our house (seriously).
This was a most awesome Top 5 list!!!

  5. Yeah, I considered all three--there are so many great ones to choose from.  There are, strangely, a limited amount of pictures online, so I had to use the Mean and You pic for lack of more relevant ones!
